Simon Clark
Simon is a specialist family lawyer, accredited mediator and arbitrator. Simon is focused on adopting a caring, conciliatory and non-confrontational approach in seeking constructive outcomes with the client’s needs as a priority.
Having practised exclusively in family law for over 30 years, he has experience in all aspects of family law, ranging from highly complex financial cases to matters where meeting client’s needs is the key objective.
He is highly experienced in dealing with difficult disputes over children involving cases with challenging issues, including serious allegations, expert assessments and evidential disputes.
Underlying his approach to all matters is a focus on finding solutions that meet the client’s and the family’s needs outside the court wherever possible. He is skilled and adept at supporting clients entrenched in high conflict and abusive relationships.
Alongside his role as a family lawyer, Simon has had an established mediation practice since 2012. As an accredited mediator with the Family Mediation Council, he is able to offer mediation information and assessment meetings (MIAM). He is also qualified to have direct consultation with children in mediation to enable children to have a voice.
Simon is further trained in the ‘hybrid mediation’ model, a specialised approach providing mediation to deal with cases involving complex issues, personalities and disputes.
In addition, Simon is a qualified arbitrator for cases involving children where parties are keen to avoid the delays of the court process. He is a member of the Institute of Family Law Arbitrators (IFLA).
